An experience money can’t buy
A unique high end timepiece is already exceptional. For the 2017 edition of Only Watch, it has been proposed, whenever possible and according to the brand’s culture and desire, to combine the timepiece with a unique experience with either a brand ambassador (athletics champion, car racing driver…) or an exceptional event (film festival, fashion show…). Collaborations between brands, brands x artist, brand x ambassador, brand x media…will also catalyze a lot of interest both from collectors and lifestyle donors.

Armin Strom Manual Hunt Slonem Edition For Only Watch
With its contribution to Only Watch 2017, the Swiss manufacturer Armin Strom has given new meaning to the concept of the watchmaker’s art. In cooperation with the American artist Hunt Slonem, famous for his highly original works, the Armin Strom watchmakers have created a timepiece which represents a spectacular fusion of creative art and mechanical craftsmanship.
This unique piece combines the signature of the New York artist who enjoys a prestigious international reputation with the unmistakable style of the Swiss watch manufacturer. The titanium case of the Armin Strom Manual Hunt Slonem Edition for Only Watch houses the manually wound AMW11 calibre with off-center time display and small seconds. Its open worked spring barrel provides a 5 day power-reserve. The plate and bridges of the manufactured calibre feature sophisticated decoration and are hand-engraved. The dial side serves as a screen onto which Hunt Slonem’s contemporary art has been transferred. The colours and motifs have been taken from a painting (H: 46cm x W: 31cm) which awaits its new owner together with the watch.
Estimate: $11,000 – $20,000 Usd. For more info. on Armin Strom, Click Here.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Only Watch
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in black ceramic (Only Watch piece unique) evokes the last moments of light cast by the sun as darkness descends on the evening sky, reflected by the ‘skylight’ blue Grande Tapisserie dial, polished counters in solid grey gold and orange-tinted photo realistic moon. Juxtaposed against the entirely hand-finished black ceramic Royal Oak case, bezel and bracelet, the transition from the blue, orange and silver dusk to the pitch black of night is a powerful combination. In addition to the unique dial, the Only Watch unique piece is the first black ceramic perpetual calendar wristwatch to feature a black ceramic caseback with sapphire display back revealing a unique hand-finished black oscillating mass.
Estimate: $83,000 – $124,000 Usd. For more info. on Audemars Piguet, Click Here.
Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Off- Centered Cuprite
This reinterpretation of the legendary Grande Seconde watch and its playful figure 8 (the symbol of infinity and completeness that has come to represent Jaquet Droz) features a cuprit background. Its fiery red color embodies all the passion dedicated to both the timepiece and the Only Watch project.
The cut of the mineral dial requires the extreme, expert delicacy for which Jaquet Droz is known. Each inclusion, vein and detail of the dial makes for a singular masterpiece. But the Grande Seconde goes even further: the two counters traditionally aligned on the 12 o’clock / 6 o’clock axis are made off-center, adding an original, dynamic touch to this purest of canvases. The thinness of the circled gold flanges match that of the hands and the majestic direct-drive seconds hand, while the crown is shifted to 4 o’clock for a subtle aesthetic twist.
Arnold & Son Time Pyramid Only Watch
Inspired by the regulators created by John and Roger Arnold over two hundred years ago, and by antique British skeleton clocks, the Arnold & Son Time Pyramid offers a highly cohesive and seductive blend of watchmaking feats that includes regulator, skeleton, vertical linear movement, pyramid-placement of components and multi-dimensional depth. For the unique Time Pyramid Only Watch 2017, the entire timepiece is given a bold, contemporary execution. The stainless steel case is given a black DLC treatment, while the skeletonized and symmetrical calibre A&S1615 receives a black ADLC coating, offering a striking contrast against traditional haute horlogerie hand-applied finishing and decoration. Further highlighting the unique execution of the Time Pyramid Only Watch 2017 are the red accents throughout, adding a vibrant touch to the blacked-out timepiece and recalling the Principality of Monaco’s official color. The hands of the two power reserve indicators (one per barrel) are painted red, as are the hour and minute hands and Roman numerals on the sapphire dial. The anthracite alligator strap adds the final touch with its red stitching.
Estimate: $26,000 – 36,000 Usd. For more info. on Arnold & Son, Click Here.
F.P. Journe Chronograph Monopoussoir Rattrapante
“F.P.Journe has developed an entirely new watch exclusively for Only Watch. It is a unique watch that will never exist in the F.P.Journe collection. The watch is unique, the dial is unique, the case is unique. A case in Tantalum of 44 mm, a pusher at 2h for the chronograph, a pusher at 4h for the rattrapante (split-seconds), a movement of 15 lines in 18K rose Gold, constructed in the purest horological tradition, each lever and spring is mirror polished, featuring a long autonomy of 80 hours and make it possible to use the chronograph and the split-seconds efficiently after 2 days. A blue chrome dial adorned with an unusual topography and adorned with vivid colors. While we look at this work, one can say that horology is sometimes a major Art!”
Estimate: $208,000 – $415,000 Usd. For more info. on F.P. Journe, Click Here.

Bovet Secret Beauty For Only Watch
The house of BOVET has been a leading name in watchmaking for 195 years thanks to its mastery of the decorative arts. The miniature paintings adorning the pocket watches manufactured by the BOVET brothers are omnipresent in watchmaking and art museums worldwide. Yet traditional craftsmanship does not preclude innovation, as nobly illustrated by the technicality applied to the creation of this timepiece dial. The Geisha hand-painted on the dial of this timepiece combines different layers of traditional painting and Super-LumiNova®, rendering this miniature work of art, affixed to mother-of-pearl, visible both by day and by night. For Only Watch, the artisans at BOVET 1822 have gone even further, as the Geisha bares all when night falls. This unprecedented innovation in watchmaking makes the link between the traditional enamelwork that established the House’s reputation in the 19th century and the erotic watches of the same period.
Estimate: $57,000 – $62,000 Usd. For more info. on Bovet, Click Here.
MB&F Horological Machine Nº8 Only Watch
Dive into the imaginary world of children with the HM8 Only Watch created by MB&F with the young artist Cassandra Legendre. Based on Horological Machine N°8, this Pièce Unique in 18K white gold and grade 5 titanium is instantly recognisable thanks to its special sapphire crystal pane, engraved and metallised with a whimsical drawing created by the talented 15-year old Cassandra. Visible under the doodle, the automatic HM8 engine features a unique purple winding rotor. Check the lateral time display and you’ll notice a miniature white gold elephant situated between the hour and minute prism; the elephant was sculpted by engraver Olivier Kuhn based on the elephant in Cassandra’s drawing Final touch: the MB&F logo on the double-screwed plate has been replaced by a happy face, symbolising the childlike perspective that Legendre brings to HM8.
The base of this pièce unique is Horological Machine N°8, an automotive-inspired creation that takes design cues from the legendary high-octane Can-Am race. Engraved and metallised on the sapphire crystal pane that surmounts the HM8 engine is a whimsical doodle created by 15-year-old Cassandra Legendre. A student currently living in Madrid, Legendre’s primary method of artistic expression is ballet, not these drawings which she produces in her spare time. As an exception for MB&F’s contribution to Only Watch, Legendre and her family agreed to this one-off participation to strengthen the message of HM8 Only Watch, a child creating something to help children who have been denied many of the dreams and opportunities of childhood.
Estimate: $83,000 – $103,000 Usd. For more info. on MB&F, Click Here.
Carl F. Bucherer Manero Peripheral Only Watch 2017
The Manero Peripheral Only Watch 2017 model is the epitome of a timeless classic. The timepiece’s clear design language emphasizes the sophisticated finish of the 18-carat white gold case. The characteristic peripheral rotor, which Carl F. Bucherer was the first manufacturer to put into series production, appears for the first time ever in the same royal blue that adorns the model’s leather strap and indices, a tribute to the brand’s attention to detail. Alluding to the auction that will take place on November 11, the eleven of the date appears in the same blue. A metallic dedication is placed on the inside of the see-through sapphire-crystal case back that reads “ONLY WATCH 2017 – Pièce unique – Fabriquée en Suisse”, adding another layer to the one-of-a-kind character of the timepiece. This is a watch that embodies the full innovative force of the Carl F. Bucherer manufacture by blending the sophisticated engineering of the in-house movement with a timeless design interpretation.
Estimate: $19,000 – $24,000 Usd. For more info. on Carl F. Bucherer, Click Here.
Since 2005, the uniqueness of a project such as Only Watch underlines how great brands from luxury groups or independent craftsmen have achieved to unite in the pursuit of a common goal: financing research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This synergy, under the patronage and support of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, driven by the enthusiasm shown by individuals within the brands and partners, shows a deep wish to help this noble cause. In six editions, Only Watch has raised more than 25 million euros for Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (Monaco Association against Duchenne muscular dystrophy) helping make significant advances in research over a decade.
On this 7th edition, we welcome the international leading auction house Christie’s, which will fully support the project throughout its 80 specialist departments, led in this case by Christie’s global watch team. Christie’s Geneva, the firm’s second oldest auction room will be looking forward to hold the Only Watch 2017 edition on 11 November, 2:30 pm (UCT+1), Geneva, Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues.
